Find the best location
Location ideas are endless. One of the most important things for prepping for your Senior Session is finding a location. Yes, you can go anywhere but, your location should be authentic and uniquely you. City scapes, urban/town settings can give you lots of great views, textures, and grit. Even with lots of steel, brick, and architecture you can usually find lots of great greenery, water, and artwork to really make the session versatile. Also parks, waterways, rivers, etc.. the great outdoors will always be a staple in senior sessions. Finding a location that speaks to you is key! Studio sessions can be as simple or creative as we can get! And anything like favorite coffee shops, hobbies, Sports themed, music themed, etc… is great! I can help you narrow down ideas from my shoot questionnaire if you haven’t decided yet.

Hair and makeup can be a great treat for yourself. Im all about self love and by no mean believe anyone needs it. But if its something you know you will enjoy I say go for it! Book appointments with professional stylists to ensure your look enhances your natural beauty and complements your outfit. If you’re doing your hair and makeup yourself, practice before the shoot to perfect your look.
Consider bringing props and accessories
Adding props and accessories to your photos can make them more personal and unique. Choose items that reflect your hobbies, interests, or future aspirations. Some popular props for senior photos include musical instruments, sports equipment, books, and flowers.
Practice posing before the shoot
Posing isn’t something we always do. I will help coach you through posing with prompts and direction. But you can totally go on IG, Tim Tok, Pinterest, google, etc and look up ideas! … It could help to try different poses you find online and try them in front of a mirror. If that’s too cringe for ya, don’t worry, I got you with the prompts haha.
Have fun and relax during the shoot
Senior photos are supposed to be fun! Try not to stress too much and focus on enjoying the experience. If you’re feeling nervous, take a deep breath and remind yourself that the photographer is there to help you look your best.
Rest up
Prior to your session it’s important to be rested. There can be a lot going on in your life like events, homework, sports, etc… But you will want to be harp and rested up before your session. And stay hydrated. Water is your friend.
