Spring Heinz Chapel Wedding
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Ally and Nikos’ spring Heinz Chapel wedding recently, it was a day filled with love, laughter, and some stunning backdrops.
Our day began at the gorgeous Oaklander Hotel in Oakland. This place is the epitome of chic elegance. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s both modern and cozy. The whole place boasts sleek, contemporary decor with touches of vintage charm—perfect for those getting ready shots. Ally and her bridesmaids looked absolutely radiant against the backdrop of the hotel’s stylish interiors.
Next, we headed over to the Cathedral of Learning for some portraits and their first look. This spot is one of my favorites in Oakland, and it’s easy to see why. The towering architecture and sprawling green spaces create a unique Pittsburgh vibe. Ally and Nikos snuggled up to their first look near the Cathedral and then had family photos in the grassy park area. The weather was perfect, a tad windy. But this day felt gorgeous out!
Then it was time for the ceremony at the iconic Heinz Chapel. This place never ceases to amaze me with its stunning stained glass windows and intricate details. The ceremony was heartfelt and beautiful, with Ally and Nikos surrounded by their closest family and friends. The chapel’s timeless beauty provided a perfect setting for such a significant moment.
After the ceremony, we made our way to the reception near the rainforest section of Phipps Conservatory. Talk about a unique venue! The lush greenery and exotic plants made it feel like we were in a tropical paradise. Ally and Nikos had chosen a beautiful blue color scheme for the decor, which complemented the vibrant surroundings perfectly. The reception area was adorned with elegant touches, delicate floral arrangements, and sparkling fairy lights. It was a sight to behold!
The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, delicious food, and lots of dancing. Thank you, Ally and Nikos, for letting me be a part of your special day. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love! I hope everyone else enjoyed this spring Heinz Chapel wedding too!
